The Australian Qualifications Framework determines that the duration of this qualification is 1 – 2 years, however with both face-to-face training, and flexible online learning, learners can typically complete within the first 12 months. How quickly an individual is able to complete the course will depend on how fast they work through the content, their commitment to learning and their level of competence.

While the course’s expected duration is 12 months, applicants with Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may graduate in three months in cases where the provision of RPL evidence meets assessment requirements.

This qualification is primarily completed via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) acknowledging that individuals may already have skills, knowledge and experience acquired through formal or informal means throughout their lifetime and working life.

The RPL process identifies gaps in knowledge and appropriate work-based and action learning projects necessary to achieve the qualification. Students need to be working in a role that allows them to complete work-based projects as required.

Students not currently employed may need to access a workplace to undertake vocational placement to complete any necessary work-based projects.

Contact our Student Services team to discuss your circumstances. Our Trainer/Assessor will work through the RPL process with you and offer guidance regarding work placement needs.

BSB80320 Graduate Diploma of Strategic Leadership is predominately undertaken via RPL in recognition of the experience required for entry to the qualification. There is an RPL Kit developed for this qualification and your assessor will first work with you to determine the level of RPL for which you are likely to be eligible. The RPL process requires that you systematically collect evidence of your ability to meet the course requirements, and work with the trainer/assessor to present this evidence. Evidence may be in the form of work samples, professional conversations and/or practical demonstrations. These are supported by testimonials from your workplace supervisor or a Board Member.
